On my trip from Argentina to Brazil, I flew Aerolineas Argentina (AA). There are surprisingly few flights between Buenos Aires and Rio, so the options were limited to AA, Emirates and Latam. AA had the best flight times, and a sweet little feature where you can offer money for upgrades. Think Ebay bidding for a first class seat: offer them some money and if they like your bid, they’ll upgrade you!
Given I looked like a grungy backpacker, I’m sure the others in first class were surprised to see me, but the legroom alone was worth the extra $20 I paid for the seat.
Everything else was pretty standard for a flight of less than four hours’ duration. Like most American airlines that fly domestically, there wasn’t entertainment or welcome refreshment. That was fine by me, it being 6am and all. I just wanted to recline and sleep.
The eye mask I got as part of the amenity kit helped with this.
As we got closer to landing, I was woken up with great views of Brazil, and a nice gluten free breakfast.
Overall I’d say bidding $20-50 for a first class seat on Aerolineas Argentina is definitely worth the cost, especially if you want to recline and sleep on an early morning flight if you have a big day ahead!
